Troubadour by BurlapZack Troubadour by BurlapZack
This series is from last summer, when Billy and I drove out to a dried up lake bed to get some promotional photos for an album he's recording.

I loved how they came out, and I think that's why it's taken so long for me to put them up. I couldn't pick out which ones to submit.

I'm finally ready to put these up.

And you should definitely give a round of applause for Billy. He wore an all black wool suit with a black shirt and tie. Temperatures were over 100 degrees fahrenheit (37 celcius).

I was barely wearing any clothes and I was sweaty and miserable. I can't imagine what his experience was like.

This reminds me of something you might find on the cover of a country album.

Pretty close, since Billy's a folk singer.

that's awesome...
great concept, and the deadness of it all... the stranded bricks, the dead tree, and yet the grass softens it all up.

wonderful... and yes, i would probably pass out in that weather, let alone in black and a suit

Thanks chum-a-roo. Nope, that's the polarizing filter actually. It vignettes pretty hard.

Were you using more than a filter in this series? (maybe UVsky+polarizer) Because my EF-S 10-22 (which I suppose is the same as yours) doesn't show any vignetting with just one filter on.

Nope, just the polarizer. The one I use is kind of thick, so I'm not surprised it gets vignetting.

absolutely fab. those clouds are beautiful and the tree is amazing and that ground is so very cool. its like the composition was already there, you just had to put your little friend with the black wool in there. I LOVE IT!

Nearly having your friend pass out from heatstroke for an album cover: priceless.
