The gallery opening is tonight!

He ended up choosing just one, 'Civility.'
I'm rather excited about it. I went by there today, and I from a quick inspection, I couldn't find any other photography. It looks like all paintings, and then my photo.

I guess that could be a blessing, but somehow it makes me nervous.

It's for sale at $45, which I'm not really expecting it to sell. The gallery gets 40% so I'm not entirely sure I want it to sell. I didn't know what their cut was when I set the price. I may up it a little bit before the show. To anyone that's had their stuff on display for sale, is 40% a normal rate?

In other news:
I was in a wreck last Friday, around 10pm. A girl with no license and no insurance darted out in front of me and I couldn't stop in time. I'm fine of course, and I believe she is too, though they took her away on a stretcher. I think she said something about her neck hurting a little bit. It was maybe a 20mph collision.

Thankfully, my insurance has coverage for uninsured drivers, so that should be okay. The damage to my truck was minimal.

The Occupational Hazard of the Day

I noticed that someone had left some of those so-called 'Liquid/Ice' Ice Breakers mints on the counter at Wolf Camera. You know, the ones with the insufferable commercial with Hilary and Ashley Duff where they're arguing about whether it's liquid or ice? Well, I wanted to find out for sure, without having to eat one. After all, who knows who left them there? They could be filled with poison, for all I know.

So I picked one up and started to squeeze it between thumb and forefinger. It proved remarkably resilient. I finally popped it, squirting the entire contents directly into my right eyeball. Off to the emergency eyewash station I went.

Surprisingly, it didn't sting at all. It just felt like someone had rubbed IcyHot onto my retina. I guess that's what happens when you squirt menthol onto your peepers.


This is probably my longest journal entry, ever.
